With some conditions, we may suggest that you see a local pharmacist in the area.  Pharmacy First is

a national NHS service launched on January 31, 2024, that allows patients to receive treatment for seven common conditions directly from a pharmacist without needing a GP appointment This service builds on the existing Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) and enables pharmacists to provide advice, self-care strategies, and, when appropriate, prescribe and supply prescription-only medications, including antibiotics and antivirals. 

Musculoskeletal Service (Physiotherapy)

If you have joint or muscle aches or pain, you may benefit from some physiotherapy. This is provided by the Healthshare Service, and you can self-refer to this here.

ECGs Services

SMW is a hub practice for providing and reporting ECGs (electrocardiograms) for some practices in the south of the borough. ECGs are used to investigate heart related conditions.  We also offer a screening service for atrial fibrillation – a common problem affecting heart rhythm for patients aged 55 and over. 

Private Fees

Fees are payable on certain services not available under the NHS, eg verification of private insurance claims, passport application forms etc. Details of these prices are available at reception.

Maternity

Maternity services 

The practice offers antenatal care during surgery hours in conjunction with hospital antenatal clinics. Antenatal classes are offered through your midwife.

Patients can self-refer to the maternity services in the local area as soon as possible after a positive pregnancy test.
